COVID-19 Statement
August 24, 2020
As we continue to monitor the situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19) , we are taking necessary steps to ensure the well-being and health of our students, staff, and attendees of our future events.
Our staff leadership and Board have created a return to campus policy for our staff to abide by in regards to returning to campus. In summary, each campus ministry is to abide strictly to the guidelines set by their respective campus for not only their health but for the lives of the students, faculty and families involved. We are praying that ministry will be able to return back to normal in the near future but in the meantime we will require that all staff and students involved practice general precaution as well as safe practices for gathering if physical. Please join us in prayer for creativity and God to open doors in this unique season of ministry.
Please do not hesitate to contact us at augusta@campusoutreach.org with any questions or concerns.

As we continue to monitor the situation with Coronavirus (COVID-19) , we are taking necessary steps to ensure the well-being and health of our students, staff, and attendees of our future events.
Our staff leadership and Board of Directors are closely monitoring information regarding this virus and the various responses seeking to mitigate its further spread. We are in regular communication with local and campus officials, as well as church leadership, as we seek to prayerfully determine the best course of action regarding our campus ministry activities and previously scheduled upcoming events. Our campus staff are operating according to the recommendations and policies of the institutions at which they serve. Therefore, all events with students are currently suspended.
In light of the safety and our response to the COVID-19, we would like to provide the opportunity for you to attend the first ever VLP (Virtual Leadership Project). As you look to how you would spend your summer, what better way then to dive deep into God’s word with others from your campus?
Please do not hesitate to contact us at augusta@campusoutreach.org with any questions or concerns.

Dear Students and Parents of the 2020 Summer Leadership Project,
Campus Outreach Augusta will no longer be hosting an in-person Summer Leadership Project in Daytona Beach, Florida. After much prayer, consideration, and evaluation of the implications of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), we have decided that it would not be in the best interests of the staff and students to continue with the project. We are sad to have to make this decision after many of you have already expressed interest, but hope that this decision communicates how the safety of students is deeply important to us.
With that being said, Campus Outreach Augusta will be hosting an online version of the Summer Leadership Project. Our plan is to partner with several other Campus Outreach regions and collaborate in a quality online training opportunity. We still plan to have theme meetings, leader’s training, Bible study training, etc. online with opportunities to split up into smaller groups after the sessions to discuss in further detail. We are truly excited about being able to still train students this summer despite the devastating effects of the this virus. We hope that by offering training online, many more students could join us because it would much less of a financial and time commitment.
We will be reimbursing all deposits, support raised, and application fees by the end of today, and those should show back up in your accounts by the end of the week. While I’m sure you have many more questions about what this will look like, we are currently in the process of working through all the details of this virtual project like creating the schedule, coming up with a registration process, making a notebook, designing a t-shirt, etc. We will get all that information to you as soon as possible. Our desire is to finish up this virtual project by coming together at the end of July for a few days (Lord willing) for an in-person Leadership Intensive Retreat. We are working hard on coming up with all of these details, so please pray that God would give us wisdom as those plans come together.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your campus staff person or email me at andrew.sears@campusoutreach.org.
While this summer will look different than we expected, we are still looking forward to what is to come and hope you will join us. Thankfully we have a God that has far better plans than we could ever come up with! An encouraging passage to me in this time is Isaiah 55:8-9, which says,“‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’”
Sincerely,
Andrew Sears

With respect to our Summer Leadership Project, we are monitoring the continuously changing landscape of information and waiting to make a final determination. We are hopeful that changes for the better will allow these events to proceed as planned, but are diligently preparing for alternative possibilities.
Please know that our highest priority in all of our decisions is the well-being of the students and staff entrusted to our care. We invite you to join us asking God for wisdom, prudence, and grace as we all seek to respond faithfully in these uncertain times.
